Special moments from one of the holiest places in the world, the town of Liska, where the deep and blessing-filled prayers recited at the grave of the great tzadik, Rebbe Hershele Lisker zt"l (רבי הערשעלע ליסקער זצ״ל), resonate.

This prayer seeks healing for the ill, prosperity for the less fortunate, and peace and well-being for the people of Israel and all humankind. In the Jewish world, Liska is regarded as a special location, primarily due to the Liska Rebbe’s construction of a famous synagogue that stood as one of the largest in Europe at the time. Jewish communities keep the memory of the town and the tzadik alive, as many make pilgrimages here to seek blessings in the spirit of the Kivrei Tzadikim tradition.

Known as Rebbe Hershele Lisker (רבי הערשעלע ליסקער) or Zvi Hirsh Friedmann (צבי הירש פרידמאן), this distinguished author of Ach Pri Tevu'ah (אך פרי תבואה) ranks among the great Hasidic leaders, with teachings that continue to inspire his disciples. As a student of the illustrious Teitelbaum Moshe zt"l (משה טייטלבוים זצ״ל), known as the Yismach Moshe (ישמח משה), the Rebbe gained deep insights into Torah and Hasidic teachings. This close disciple relationship remains alive in the hasidic communities, especially among the Satmar followers, who honor the memory of both Teitelbaum and Rebbe Hershele Lisker.

Across the globe, Hasidic communities—whether in Borough Park, Williamsburg, or anywhere in Israel—revere the town of Liska and the merit of the Liska Rebbe. As a prominent Kivrei Tzadikim site, the Liska cemetery allows prayers to be filled with extraordinary power, drawing on the tzadik's merit. On the anniversary of the Rebbe's passing, the yahrzeit (יארצייט), thousands of people make a pilgrimage here to pray and seek blessings for their families and communities.

The teachings of the Liska Rebbe, preserved in works like Ach Pri Tevu'ah (אך פרי תבואה) and Hayoshor veHatov (הישר והטוב), continue to inspire and lead Jewish communities across the globe. Liska, a sacred land rich in past miracles and blessings, continues to be a place where deep faith-filled prayers are answered, offering blessings to all who come to seek them.
